working on a computer?
Tell your stories of computer naivete lost. The first time I used Photoshop I kept trying to find out how to hide a whole image within one pixel of another image like in the 80s detective tv shows.

My computer was always in a room downstairs, near my parents.
My siblings and I got like 30 minutes each to do whatever we wanted (usually using Neopets or coding html at Geocities or Homestead).
One time the basic font for all of Windows changed into something illegible, and I nearly cried because I thought I was going to get in trouble. Anyway, eventually I just tried restarting the computer and it was fine. Windows 95 sucked :(

I played Atic Atac and Manic Miner on a Sinclair ZX Spectrum at the Electronic Computation Technology Institute in early 80's commie Poland. Or was it a ZX Spectrum brought by a friend's uncle from the UK? Can't remember.
The unexpected thing about it they told me was that you couldn't break it by typing code into it, just like you cannot break a calculator by a wrong key combination.Well, this has changed a little by now..

our school had old Acorn computers. The games were awesome. Pole position was the class favourite.
At home my mum had an atari, with a green and black screen and all it did was word processing....killer.
Our first PC had an 80mb hard drive. And it cost a fortune!

I had a ZX.

Used a BBC Micro at school - played such games as Carwash and Candyfloss.
I started coding games on the Spectrum as soon as I found a manual.
