I'm thinking of buy a Brompton S2L rather that the M series. Does anyone here own an S2L?

i didnt realise these bikes were so expensive!
i see folk going about on bikes like these and think "what a silly bike!"
are they the "thing to have" or are you wanting it for its fold-down functionality?
just wondering what these bikes were all about as i see them a lot.

in London - it's train thing you can't take normal bikes on in rush hour but you can take a foldup...
+ Bromptons are all handmade in Brentford.
...go for the titanium one : )

I'm thinking about getting one in time for summer. Some people I work with have them and swear by them, no other bike folds as small or is engineered as well and they hold their second hand value.
Plus you can get each section painted a different custom colour!

I use the over train and then tube to work. Summers coming and I hate the heat in the tube.
My conpany is taking advantage of the government scheme that lets you by a bike and they take off VAT and tax. I'll be saving about 43% which comes out of my wages. Looking at paying almost half retail cost.
I was interested to hear from people using an S2L.
On the bright side, I could sell in for about the same purchase price in a years time if I hate it.

this is cheaper and looks less gay

Thanks for posting the links Kezza, I'll be interested to see how small those bikes fold down. The Brompton folds down to almost nothing so I won't take out too many knee on publc transport.

just the same, I nearly bought one.
a coupld of the more pricey Danons come with rucksacks too

dahons suck and don't fold down that small. I get a 10% discount at evans but I can't seem to find one that sells bromptons anymore, it's all dahons everywhere

London bridge, and the one at Liverpool St does. The shop across the road fron Evans on Liverpool St has far more. I can get a custom one from a company in Wales that my company is going throught. Takes a while though.
