What is the best free FTP program for use on a mac? My Dreamweaver 8 won't let me FTP anymore.
Cheers

I use FireFTP and it works very well. I'm happy with it. Thing is, that it is a firefox extension.

I used to use CyberDuck - for years, in fact. A few months ago I made the "plunge" and got Transmit. It's very good, and much faster to boot. Just buy it. Or get Coda.

On pc I use Total Commander as a file manager and ftp client, it has plenty of other functionality too.
On the mac, Forklift is a great TC clone, it is a double-pane better finder, with the ability to archive, browse inside archives as if they were regular folders, app removal (like app zapper) and it is a great FTP client.

Help with FireFTP . . . I downloaded it and am able to connect to my server, but I don't see any of my files on the remote server - even if I just leave the host directory as / you would think that I would be able to browse on my remote server - does anyone know how to do this??

ForkLift seems ok. Free at the moment too 'cause it's in beta.

Forklift is really great. If they ever charge for it, I will be happy to pay. It makes finder, ftp clients and stufit obsolete letting you browse ftp servers and archive files just as if they were local folders.
Its architecture is open for plugins, so sure it will grow further. Right now it has an app removal plugin, which replaces app zapper.
