"I am taking a calculated risk. What's the upside? I overcome my nausea, faulty feeling love, babies, normalcy, no more self-loathing. Downside, I uh date Michael Scott publicly and collapse on myself like a dying star. Why is this so hard? That's what she said. Oh my God, what am I saying."

I can't stand steve carell in the office. I loved him in daily show, and I liked him on most movies, but for some reason not in the office..
- Jaline0
I think his character is supposed to be like that. I hate him too, but in a loving way. But if I knew someone like that in real life I definitely would try to get out of that situation if it were possible.

I understand he is suppoused to be obnoxious, but its not that.
He is just not funny and annoying.;(

I like him in the role. As a boss, he's pretty terrible, but he's also a really tragic character.
Apparently Jenna Fischer just broke her back.

Anyone check out the season finale?
SPOILERS BELOW...
- I like Karen. I think her true personality is being revealed more and more with each episode though, and it's clear that she's more bitchy than Jim is probably into. However, to be fair, it's very obvious that Jim and Pam have a whole thing going on and it clearly makes Karen insecure.
- The ending between Jim / Pam / Karen was really weird. I guess Karen and Jim broke up?
- Jan's a great character. lol @ her assistant, Hunter (or whatever his name is).
- Michael was really annoying in this episode. More than usual.
- This new, happier Pam seems weird to me. I'm not sure if I like it :/
- Where's Toby? He's so awesome.
- Creed was great, as per usual. His fake blog was hilarious.
- The only reason Ryan is still around is because he's one of the producers or primary writers or something (same with the actress who plays Kelly, but I feel like her characters is actually realistic, unlike Ryan's pointless character). I don't know though...maybe other people relate to Ryan? His line at the end of the episode was good, but I still hope his character gets more interesting. Right now he's boring and him taking over Jan's job should be fun, as long as it's not....well...boring.
- Everything else was well done too.

Jim's reactions to Michael's comments were more hilarious than usual, but I'm still tired of this Jim + Pam ("Jam") thing.

Haven't seen the US version.
I bet it blows compared to the UK original though.
:)

it's better than the original

I agree with Rand

michael scott is by far one one of the funniest characters on any sitcom.

He has some of the best lines, but I'm not sure if he's one of the best characters, as you say. But he does come across as being an idiot, yet very human, and it's clearly a ploy to make the viewer sympathize with him ;)

(May 21 07, 02:25)"All a matter of opinion" is very true in this case. Most of those from the UK like the UK version, and those from North America prefer the American version (for the most part). It's a difference in personal experience / life thing.

When the US version started it sucked.
I couldn't believe gervais/merchant would do that and sell out so completely.
But I gave it a chance and now that I know the characters enough not to have to compare them to their british counterparts it's a lot better. The US version has become a series of its own. Jim/Pam are no longer Tim/Dawn but are their own characters.
Gervais played a very british twat. Michael is much more of an outlandish american twat, the concept of the show is the same but the humour is quite different.
I find there are less subtleties in the US version, the little looks and expessions are there but not to the same extent.
those brits who haven't seen the US series should give it a chance, it's probably the best comedy coming out of there at the moment, apart from Curb...

can you tell it's my last few days of work?
- Jaline0
I agree, Basker.
Also, Arrested Development would be up there if it weren't cancelled :/
