Not sure if anyone has suggested this but try and get in contact with a local *newspaper*.
I contacted the Derby Evening Telegraph and they gave me a pile load for free :)

Ah nah I'm sorted on paper now, just getting my work printed on it at A2 size, that's my problem now.
Cheers though.

you're running newsprint through a photocopier/printer? hav you done this before? ive never had good luck with it. paper always jams because it's too thin.

I've ended up moving away from Newsprint, and I've bought some recycled 100gsm paper, Redeem, from Fenner Paper. So there's no trouble with the weight, it's just finding a short run pritner who will print colour, double-sided, on SRA2, for 100ish copies, for an affordable price, in the West Midlands in the UK. That's all, not asking much.

it may not look the best but try page tilling....
you could do it right from an inkjet...and save yourself a ton of money...I just tiled a newsprint poster not that long a go for a project...didn't come out half bad

oh, like split up the A2 into A4 segments and fold the paper down to fit the printer?
Hmmm might give it a go.
Cheers.

exactly...and I don't know what program you are using but there should be an option under one of the menus to setup page tiling so when you go to put it together everything will line up...it is a pain in the ass, and time consuming..

are u doing short runs?
im dead sure ur college has screenprint facilities..print out ur work tiled on A4,photocopy it to A3, sellotape it, get it UV transfered onto a screen mesh - and ur set.. u can print in a plethora of colours onto an absure range of materials... as much as you want...
if ur college doesnt have it, a commercial screen printer will charge u roughly £75 to set up a board and then if u provide the paper - it will cost u like 10p a print -
which is cool if ur doing 100 cause it comes out at 85p a print - but if ur doing 10 it comes out at £8.50
have a word with ur print shop technician - dig around :)

hey thanks, I'll go looking tomorrow. I know there are screenprint facilities but whenever i've asked about them, the technician's just told me how to make stencils for screenprinting - and that's not something i can do with my work. So I'll chat to him again, but forking out £75 doesn't sound bad.
Thanks loads chaps, confidence boost.
