I need some help. I'm looking for some sort of symbol/icon that represents in a basic real world way something giving/taking, hurting/helping, pushing/pulling, loving/hating, etc.
I'm looking for something deceptively simple. I need it to be powerful enough to represent a large idea without being too literal. Something metaphoric is the goal.
I don't need anyone to make anything for me. I just need ideas.
If someone does have a custom idea that they think they can execute, I would be willing to discuss that further privately.

My advice is to rephrase your post.

Try using an image of John Kerry wind surfing, then flip the image back and forth. I think that's been proven to work.

A couple good responses so far. I'm trying to come up with an example of something that's already been done to show what I'm looking for. The only thing I can think off of hand right now without spending too much time is the cover for Rush's album Counterparts.
The nut and the bolt are obviously counterparts, but they represent a much larger theme if you know the album.
I'm trying to think of a symbol that represents things helping each other, but also somehow hurting each other. I dont know how to show both of those things in 1 symbol, if even possible. That's just a very general explanation of the concept.

leave it to the chinese! "The ying yang is genius. Surprised that didnt poop in my head earlier. Probably because it's so common and I guess I'm looking for something more abstract. It's very possible this might need to be a custom job for someone with a great idea and some skill.
I know this might be too much to ask casually on a forum. If that's the case I'm willing to pay up for something custom. We would need to talk about that in private though.

Lol. I said poop.

You said it was in your head.
- CygnusZero30
Yeah, my brain feel like a steaming pile of poop right now.

ok, instead of sitting in front of your comp asking us, go out, drive around for a while or go to a park. THINK. It will come to you if u just let it go....
