Yeah, I was very fortunate to spend over 6 years in Europe growing up.
I often forget how many people never leave their backyard. Not to be elitist or aanything, but I think it does change your perception of things.

i agree harlequino. as a matter of fact, i've lived here for twenty-something years and now i'm thinking we should move overseas for a bit at some point.
it's too easy to live in one place and have that perspective start to seep into everything unconsciously.

+1 -sputnik- for that thought. could not agree more.

sputnik, madirish;
in the same vein.Be as careful of the books you read, as of the company you keep; for your habits and character will be as much influenced by the former as by the latter.

I don' t know how far this will go, but it's quite enjoyable so far. At last, congress shows some damn balls and sense of responsibility.
A couple of us around here are old enough to remember how the Watergate break-in seemed like the most disgraceful thing that every happened to a presidency.
W continues to amaze.

I heard Bush saying that if dems subpoena he won't let anyone talk. Can he do that?
Of course, they will all plead the 5th or say I don't know / I don't remember like Ollie and Reagan did.

Suddenly, everything just got more interesting.
Oh, I ran home for lunch and was flipping channels. While CNN was covering the live press conference with Tony Snow, Fox was covering the "breaking news" about Anna Nicole's baby pappa drama for 45 minutes. There might have been a graphic running underneath it saying "Bush, #1" but wasn't paying too much attention.

The conflict will be handled by the Supreme Court if it runs out the that almost certain fate.

Awesome quote from Leahy:
Referring to Bush, he said, "I know he's the decider for the White House. He's not the decider for the United States Senate."
This is getting good.
