Haven't ridden for fricking years, and with my new found freedom...I am going to spoil myself and get a new ride.
So recommend me bikes to look at that I can tool around town on. Nothing super fancy, 650cc or so I was thinking?
Idears pls!

My two bikes:
Question is, what type of riding do you plan to do?
this will be my next purchase:

first off, it is "Motorcycle".
second, i would say a duc, but only if you really want to be seen and prefer expensive repairs.
;)

I've got a '99 Suzuki SV650 that I freakin' love. I just put sportier bars on it so it's got more of a new school cafe racer feel to it.
Which direction do you think you'd go jevad? Cruising? Full on sport riding (my brother just got the new Triumph Daytona 675)?
Just don't be like this guy:

just kinda depends on what type of riding you want to do. I use my Duc around town, cause its light, quick and agile. Plus in california, you can lane split and the duc is super narrow for just such purposes.
The bmw is for longer road trips, I took a trip to vancouver with my brother a few months back on it, and it was way comfy.
If you like Duc's you could get the monster 620 for around 4g's

Just cruising I think really...riding around town - up to teh mountains...

These are where it's at right now. You'll have so many hot bitches lined up to press they titties into your back as you stroll down the highway.

Ive riden all my life as well as done a bit of racing, listen to fortified, he seems to know what hes talking about. it all depends on what kind of riding you plan to do.
is it for looks, comfort, speed/street, speed/street eventually track?

or perhaps you might consider a 318hp, 450ft lbs of torque jet engine bike:

don't buy that ninja or a kitana or any other sport tourer (under 1000cc) for that matter. Get a sport bike, way more fun, way cooler (if you have that desire) and just all around a better bike. The older triumphs and nortons are cool for cruising around town, but heading out for a day of riding, with that hot girl on back, you're buddies and scenic view === laid x 10

There's the new Norton Commando 961 that may or may not ever see the light of day:
The new F800S from BMW might be a good option depending on your budget.

(Mar 8 07, 12:19)haha, you and I may be the only two in the world who share that sentiment!
anyhow, even tho the R1 and the GSXR are WAY fun, it's likely too much bike for you right now.
Start light, then in a year trade up.
