Love is a shield to hide behind. Love is a field to grow inside, and when i sometimes close my eyes my mind starts spinning round.

no, it's in your head. You're transferring the love you want, into something else. It could get there, but it doesn't happen that fast.
Be careful, just enjoy the newness and don't project things into it. that's where most guys mess it up

(Mar 1 07, 07:52)I agree.
But it does depend. Some people know each other for one week, get married, and stay together for decades.
But that's rare.

(Mar 1 07, 09:05)Yeah, arranged marriages aren't as common these days.

If it changes you when you don't want to change, it's love.
- Jaline0
actually, skt, they're still prevalent in certain cultures, even in Western society.
but that's not what I was talking about. I even mean when a person initiates first contact themselves.

more and more i'm convinced that it's all just pheromones.
find the person that smells like afternoon naps and your childhood memories and riverbeds and chess and cedar forests and bastille day and everything else.
hang on to that one.

To me, it's the feeling I get each time I say goodbye to my girlfriend, knowing there's the chance I might never see her again should some unforseen thing happen - and to take that feeling and realize how empty life would be without her, how lost I would be - and this makes me realize how intertwined our lives are, how much we mean to each other.
Though of course I love her for happy things and all that, my concept of love comes somewhat from the loss of my sister 11 years ago, a tragic, instant thing in a car wreck. First time to ever go through anything like that, and you learn alot about yourself, what you value in other people, what you care about, what people do to leave lasting impressions on you.
As I've grown as a person from that time, love has become that realization of how you could never imagine life without someone, because you actually know how that feels. It makes you absorb and store everything about the person you love, it makes them mean something more than just a person you are close to.

it's trust, respect and caring for someone more than yourself.
all the other gushy stuff is just what gets you together.
- tkmeister0
love means different to everyone. you just need to define what it means to you.
like old saying, you need to love yourself before you can love somebody. so this goes back to me touching myself. i am really feeling it up all over now.
- blaw0
tk: love your neighbor, not yourself.
