I think you can make it shorter vertically (make the lines shorter) but the width of the bar code cannot be changed. Don't quote me on that.

You're allowed to scale a bar code as long as you keep it's proprotion. Just don't scale it down too small.

i dont think you can scale it, i work with barcodes on a regular basis. it's supposed to be a set size as per your branding guideline.
if there isnt a guideline, there still should be a set size for like publishing, direct mail, &c.
ie, barcodes for our direct mail pieces are 14mm high, standard width. i never resize it.

If a branding guidelines states a specific size for a barcode, then that's something else but in general you are allowed to scale bar codes. I've done this many times for major brands.

Anyone got any further answers on this? Particularly - could I reduce the height, whilst maintaining the width? (on EAN-8 and EAN-13 barcodes)
