flv problem

  I have been trying to use an external flv in a mc that is using variables to determine which frame label to go to. this seems to mess up the flv because the playhead is never on the same frame to load the file in. It seems to work if I embed the file...but I don't want that as the file size increases. Has anyone got any ideas, it's hard to explain it.
