"There's a lot of money in keeping you basic, fat, and broke. Netflix--the $11B company--says its greatest competitor is sleep.
The last thing the pharmaceutical, sports, entertainment, and fast food industry want you to do is get mentally, physically, and emotionally fit."- Ed Latimore

“When you wake up in the morning, tell yourself: the people I deal with today will be meddling, ungrateful, arrogant, dishonest, jealous and surly. They are like this because they can't tell good from evil. But I have seen the beauty of good, and the ugliness of evil, and have recognized that the wrongdoer has a nature related to my own - not of the same blood and birth, but the same mind, and possessing a share of the divine. And so none of them can hurt me. No one can implicate me in ugliness. Nor can I feel angry at my relative, or hate him. We were born to work together like feet, hands, and eyes, like the two rows of teeth, upper and lower. To obstruct each other is unnatural. To feel anger at someone, to turn your back on him: these are unnatural.”
― Marcus Aurelius, Meditations

The Journey
One day you finally knew
what you had to do, and began,
though the voices around you
kept shouting
their bad advice --
though the whole house
began to tremble
and you felt the old tug
at your ankles.
"Mend my life!"
each voice cried.
But you didn't stop.
You knew what you had to do,
though the wind pried
with its stiff fingers
at the very foundations,
though their melancholy
was terrible.
It was already late
enough, and a wild night,
and the road full of fallen
branches and stones.
But little by little,
as you left their voices behind,
the stars began to burn
through the sheets of clouds,
and there was a new voice
which you slowly
recognized as your own,
that kept you company
as you strode deeper and deeper
into the world,
determined to do
the only thing you could do --
determined to save
the only life you could save.Mary Oliver

“When a population becomes distracted by trivia, when cultural life is redefined as a perpetual round of entertainments, when serious public conversation becomes a form of baby-talk, when, in short, a people become an audience, and their public business a vaudeville act, then a nation finds itself at risk; culture-death is a clear possibility.”

I always liked this track. Great band. Better in track
What we've got is an amalgam of spent ideals,
an incomprehensible mismatch of spent ideals.
Self-congratulatory edicts spit from gold-plated mouths,
that will never understand what it means to miss a meal.
Don't tell me what I need until you've needed anything.
Private-school anarchists with bought trains of thought,
donned in T-shirts screaming slogans of wars never fought.
And I'm supposed to hide my change?
For who and for what?
To appease the piss-ants pretending their haves are have-nots?
I know what you came out here for.AND
"Coffee Black"
You like your coffee black,
your neighborhood white,
your lights are out at nine o' clock at night.
Are you affraid of everything, or just the truth?
You've got pre-packaged food,
Family Feud, faith in the church,
and a good clean attitude.
Are you affraid of everything, or just the truth?
The only problem that you've got,
is the night that Wheel of Fortune's not.
And the only thing you haven't bought,
are the people that are buying you.
You are the Moral Majority, devoid of moral priority.
You are Barbie Doll sorority.
You are the Boys' Club government.
How we lust familarity, speedy compact portability.
Every step that you take forward,
is a generation back for us.
We are the ugly.
We are the gay, Impoverished, effeminate, and overweight.
Take your consumer culture back from us.
It's a fucking economic attack on us all.
And the Football Season is the only reason you stay alive in your Prime Time beehive.Seeing dawes a bit ago with all your favorite bands stay together makes me think of these guys.
