The average sporting event notifies the city and pulls the proper permits etc. There's a cooperation usually.

those two guys in that interview looked like absolute idiots, exactly what people would expect. If they had made some decent, well though out points about the incident then they may have gained some respect. Either that or say "no comment" but why go with the unfunny "haricuts from the 70s" thing which was just lame. At least pic a subject you know something about.

Even still, It's pretty arrogant to place battery-powered advertisements in the public space and then act like total smart-asses in front of the magistrate and citizenz like that.
- Mimio0
They look like idiots because they are idiots. Who in their right mind would risk jail time for a television network?

thats not a hair question

(Feb 5 07, 08:44)No it's not. It's about time the media in this country got schooled.
- Mimio0
How does laughing in court or in front of the boston public about the 'bomb threat' teach the media a lesson?
- Mimio0
Besides, Turner Broadcasting IS the media. This isn't some artistic act of defiance, it's cleaverly disguised commercialism.

(Feb 5 07, 09:09)Exactly, again.

those guys don't represent turner. they weren't advised to say hair comments only .. just to not comment.
- TheBlueOne0
Things have just gotten to damn meta...

FUCK boston is right....and where can I get one of those displays that caused the noise, I finally found out wat started the scare.
I want that shirt and lite up display!!
- Mimio0
Those two guys technically represent Interference Inc., but in the public perception their attitude reflects Turner. Unfortunately that's how PR works, it can bite you in the ass.
- _salisae_0
doesn't make your point relevant
- Mimio0
Sure it does. The avergae joe tunes in to see this bomb hoax thing on the news, maybe s/he see's the two smart-ass guerilla marketers treat it like a joke, and then hears how Turner Broadcasting takes responsibility and settles with the city for 2 mil. It's not just guilt by association either, they did contract and approve this campaign.
- _salisae_0
they did not contract and campaign their jokester attitude .. your point of view is furthering the ignorance
which i didn't even think was possible
but what can you expect from the average joe.
- Mimio0
Yes they did.
- Mimio0
You don't place characters 'flipping the bird' off to viewers on public property and then claim that your intention isn't to provoke and make a mockery of the very property and public you're defacing. That would truly be ignorant and disingenuous. It's a smart-ass thing to do in the first place, that's exactly why they hired these guys.

listen. luckily for you i am a certified chaostician and have authority to hereby declare your mental capacity as subnormal.
the nice men in the pretty coats will be around shortly to pick you up.
