I've been called for a review tomorrow at work. I've been at this company for 1.5 years now. I've never had a formal review before. They sat me down last year and told me they were giving me a payrise so they didn't have to do a review.
Now they've finally gotten around to it. I'm looking to leave anyway and have been interviewing for a month or so, even have an interview at another studio tonight.
I have to fill in an appraisal form. Anyone got any tips for this kind of thing. Should I air an grievances or jusst tell them everything is fine and hope they give me another payrise?
thanks

don't air your grievances, it'll give you a bad reputation and the design community is a small, close-knit one. Don't let on you're leaving and bag the cash.

tell them you've been in print in creative review and if they dont give you 7k they can fuck off, afterall, you're all that on NT.

(Feb 5 07, 05:55)haha, that's what I was planning.
I've been in print in Eye magazine for real too! So they can suck my bawls.I've been meaning to get out for ages. I'd never mention leaving but unless they give me another 5k at least then I wouldn't think about staying.

?...sound like the usual unapreciative, NO HR department type of utter bastards.
Take the money and run!
Hows the Rachmaninov coming along?

haha how did you remember that?
It coming along fine. Just been away for a week so I sat down last night to refresh myself. I've learnt all the fast agitato section up to speed now. I played along with the ashkenazy recording and managed to keep up. Now I have to finish learning the massive chordal sections at the end. Then I'll be done. I think I'm going to record it when I'm done, so I can look back in the future and say "wow, I once had some free time"

I remembered because i was impressed, and it's my favourite piece of classical music.(Not that I know anything about classical music)
Not heard the Ashkenazy version. Is it faster then?

BTW, concrete, if you're interested I've got a recording up of the last piano piece I recorded – It's the piano solo from the end credits of the film ET.
I always loved it from when I was little and used to think it was a duet with 2 pianos. I couldn't ever find sheet music for it. So last year I sat down and worked it all out by ear which took ages, as there is an orchestra in the recording too. Then I spent quite a while getting it up to speed. The right hand is basically and octave stretch for the whole piece which takes some strengthening.anyway here it is along with some other stuff:

even though its fun – dont give em the satisfaction. Not worth burning bridges over.
