Meh... It's definitely a novel concept, but can you imagine trying to browse through thousands of files? It would get old really quick.

i don't care how long it's been around for i'm not connected to the internet concious memory or anything...but yeah it seems like you could a mess real easy, gimicky yet clever

Interesting prototype, but it's just that. I can't see this being terribly useful when dealing with a large number of files. Plus, their demonstration doesn't indicate any way to see a document's name. Sometimes pushing a real-world metaphor doesn't make it more useful.

Unless you count "tidy piles" there didn't seem to be any directory structure, which isn't intrinsically bad, but seems like it could totally fuck up your web site's relative links. ;)

might be cool for certain apps like consumer orientated photo stuff, but not in the real file management category

Ya, like those Kodak photo station things.

That looks like it would be more of a hassle than just keeping your files organized in the first place.
However if it's good enough for Flavor Flav it's good enough for me.

I've been casually following the development of Beryl, but really, do you need your windows to look like their made of Jell-o?
