No harm in asking here. :)
If you could go anywhere in the world (tropical & unique) for a week in July, WHERE would you go & WHY?

Hello Brooke!
heh heh. I'm smiling ear to ear right now cause you asked this.
Anywho.
I just got back from here, it was amazing.
http://www.couples.com/12sw/indeā¦A friend last August went to Fiji and said it was beyond amazing. Although, the flight is unreal long.
St. Martin is fantastic too.
The only thing I'd be worried about with anything in the Caribbean is hurricane season. You never know.

I would suggest a cruise to the Caribbean. Why you ask?
Well, no worries about transportation, food, hotelz, or even entertainment. You're stuck there for a week with 3000 other people, therefore you will meet some interesting peepz. You not only visit one country or island, but three or even more sometimes. And last but not least, they will treat you like a king/queen. Is this for you?By the way, very nice work.

Oh, about the Caribbean though, although there's not really a totally safe zone, the southern ABC islands -- Aruba, Bonaire, and Curacao-- are considered the best bets. Aruba and Curacao were really nice.

glad to hear your vacation went well kona. Welcome bak.

Thank you OSFA.
I wouldn't quite say it went well.
I got pretty sick Wednesday. I caught a virus. I lost 9 lbs. in less than 7 hours. Had to make an emergency trip to the nurse.
Other than that it was great.

Looks amazing, Kona!
Sorry about your health troubles, but those things always make good/interesting memories. :)

Thanks brooke.
I think if the flight wasn't so long I'd go to Fiji at one of their all-inclusive resorts (if they have one).
The one I just got back from was the first all-inclusive trip I've been on. It was fantastic. I KNOW we drank more than the average folk. haha. We totally got our moneys worth.
The being sick stuff wasn't so bad. What was bad was the uncontrollable shaking and feeling like I was freezing cold with the shivers in 80+ degree weather under all the blankets in the room. That scared me. But it provided for a good laugh the next morning when we walked into the buffet to meet the rest of the group and the one guy shouts out 'HEY DOUG, HOW IS YOUR DIARRHEA TODAY!?!'

The sun doesn't like it when I go outside and tries to barbecue me. Asshole.

haha.
I responded with 'not as bad as your diarrhea of the mouth'
funny though.

I heard Barbados was really nice.
Cruises are great, just watch your cruise line. I went on NCL (Norwegian) and it was full of old people, who liked to have a good time and all, it was just full of old people (then again I'm not engaged, haha). Which made for some heated and intense trivia competition (team AHHSHASHAAHAHAHA, reigned supreme) but kind of left the nites on the cruise ship to be desired.
The staff on that ship was awesome and more our age, and we had a blast - but technically they aren't allowed to party with you on the boat (or really outside the boat, they have their own crew bars to go to but we went to all of them) and aren't allowed in your rooms ... and believe me when I say there are cameras everywhere, haha.
I'm going in a month on Carnival which is more young people though from what I've heard.
Also, pick your port wisely. Leaving from Philly may be cheaper but it's 2 days of travel I believe down and back, however, Tampa is a lot closer.
I've been to Aruba, Bahamas and Bermuda and they were all a good time. Basically like any place it's how you make it really.
All the locals were a blast, and gave us tips on all the places people actually go as opposed to touristy places.
Which you want to take with a grain of salt because sometimes they can be real shady, hahah.
Anywhere you decide, you'll have a good time basically.
:D

Glad to hear you had a pretty decent trip sans the anal leakage kOna!!
Welcome back! :D

Screw the tropics - I hear Iowa's lovely in July - and you can watch your carbon emissions and go by train!
- k0na_an0k0
haha. Thanks man.

I would go back to Mauritius. Because it is beautiful, as are its people, and it's just enough of a pain in the ass to get to that there really aren't that many tourists there

Also bring lots of sunscreen.
I'm allergic to the sun. :X

HE wants a tropical place. All I want is a place to do it nonstop.
:)
- OSFA0
I feel you flav, NCL? Sorry.
I always go Carnival, to me it's the best, besides I worked there for a while and usually get some nice hook ups. If you guys are thinking of carnival, let me know I still have my friend working there as a personal vacation planner. (don't do it through reservations!!!)

OSFA, it's already taken care of but thanks. Apparently this girl I know got in contact with a party planner there and was able to get us like $400 a person off for traveling in a large group and with rooms by each other. So she may have had a similar connect. :D
Hopefully Carnival is more forgiving for my antics. NCL Security came to my room for the first 4 days of the trip, until they wouldn't let us in our rooms between 5-8AM so that the people around us could get some sleep, haha.
They were nice enough to give us drink discounts and keep our favourite bar open during that time frame though.
It's all about compromise, haha.
That being said, me and my two buddies collectively spent 2.1K on booze on the ship alone, not withstanding each bringing 2 handles of liquor and partying up like maniacs 3 nites with the crew at all the bars at the islands, hahaha.
The literal bar is so high, that I don't think it will be possibly to out drink myself this go round though, haha.
