I think it's that typeface the Gap used... damned if I can remember the name.... I think I even have it somewhere on my hard drive
- Typographica0
The GAP didn't use a typeface for its logo, it was hand made. This one looks serifless. Looks a bit like Font Bureau's Empire, but wider.

See also PL Radiant.

Spire comes very close to GAP, btw.

i found that spire font, i found it to be quite ugly
- Rand0
spire... wasn't that what they used for the Spy magazine masthead?
- Rand0
Corvinus--that's the one I was trying to think of
no idea if that is it or not, but that's what I was trying to think of
- Rand0
for some reason I'd associated it in my memory with the Gap--sorry to have made such a grievous error
- Typographica0
Ahh yes, Corvinus Skyline from FontHaus. Good call, Rand.
- Typographica0
Rand - your Le Bec-Fin menu is really fine work.
- Rand0
many thanks Mr T--which one was it? we've given them a few options which have been rejected
- Typographica0
Birds and fat Bodoni.
- Rand0
yes, I liked that one
rejected, of course...
- Crouwel0
ofcourse.
clients have bad taste, and generally speaking,
clients taste bad as well.
- Crouwel0
yet, we still need them.
- Rand0
birds and fat bodoni, on the other hand, taste quite good

Thanks for the help. Looks like Corvinus will do the trick.
