Anyone watch this show yet? I'm going to watch it later. It's been getting a lot of publicity for its overall purpose.
' "Little Mosque on the Prairie," a Canadian sitcom that debuts Tuesday, January 9, depicts immigrant Muslims bumping up against white locals in rural Saskatchewan.
Zarqa Nawaz, creator and writer of the groundbreaking show, insists she's an equal-opportunity satirist taking dead-aim at both Muslim and Canadian stereotypes in a post-September 11 world. '

This title immediately made me picture Osama dressed like like Laura Ingalls Wilder. Disturbing, yet I'd watch that.

just what we need, more stereotyping.
what's the purpose of this?

Read the articles to see more info about the purpose.
Our very conservative radio station here in Ottawa has had many segments about the show, and most of the people who called in said that there are jokes and stereotypes aimed at BOTH whites and non-whites, and that people shouldn't be taking the show too seriously (it's comedy, after all). The callers also thought it was pretty funny, except for a few people.
Corner Gas-like.

It was terrible.

It must be.

It's either a hit or miss for most people, as the case with most comedy shows.

I've watched both of the released episodes and the show is pretty funny, I have to admit.
