This is my item, and the response looks fake. Anyone get a response like this before?
Obviously I will be dealing locally and it doesn't look like this person lives where I live.

BEWARE, Jaline!
I went through a not-so-fun experience. It is total crap.

Janet Smith?
...
Are they even trying?

Seems like Paypal is safe. They will refund you your $$ if theres a proble. But theres a 25 fee for returns which annoys me.

Response is a bit fishy, but yeah, for that kind of item i'd do a local pickup.
I don't trust PayPal either, it's money orders or no deal.

Here's what will happen.
You will get an email that looks like it is from PayPal. It isn't. Forward it to:
They will check it for you.You will also probably receive a shipping address somewhere in Nigeria. I'm serious. Why Nigeria, who knows, but that's where all this crap comes form I guess.

Totao Scam!!! Can't even use correct grammar? Gift for a client? Assuming you will just accept the offer? Too many reasons to be skeptical.
- harlequino0
The other thing they do is to offer more that you ask. Then they will do one of two things:
1. Apologize for the inflated offer and say that they "really needed" the item.
2. Just start yping lower prices and not mention it. For example, they may have bid $2600, but then you get an email that says "Ok, I am sending $2000 for the item now."
- Jaline0
they raised the price by $50. I did say, "best offer".
but yeah, it does look shady.

tell them to get to fuck,
- johndiggity0
i got like 6 of those the instant i listed a tv on craiglist 6 months ago. they said they would pay freight to lagos though.
- harlequino0
Oh and if it's a big ticket item, they'll probably throw up a fake escrow service too.
One guy try to scam me by saying my PayPal payment would be sent to my account upon receipt of freight. PayPal offers no such service.
- Jaline0
haha, I sent an email and I got a response about how she wants to send the gift to someone in the Philippines.
- chossy0
just send an email asking them to tell you what computer the user will be using to check compatibility and then you will find out for sure if that bitch is lying and if she is lying drive round her house and burn her face.

Keep 2 things in mind always.
1. Even with Paypal, wait at least 5-7 business days or until the funds are actually moved into your bank account or onto your CC before sending, not just sitting in your PayPal account. Lots of times people will pay the amount and you will get confirmation from Paypal, but then it's pulled or it's a stolen account and you've already sent the item and you get no payment.
2. If they ever offer to pay you way above asking and then request you return the difference (for various reasons), that is a known scam.
- barbtastic0
good instincts, girl, that is scam-supreme!
make sure to forward it to paypal AND to the peeps @ craigslist [and gmail or whoever your email service is]
