There's a nice round-up of font managers for OSX on ArsTechnica that you might be interested in. I'm very happy with FontExploer X, but my needs are quite pedestrian.

Spoiling it a bit, they also seem to prefer Font Agent Pro by a slim margin.

I need someone rich to buy me the new adobe font folio, I imagine this one I've had for years isn't so os x friendly, I have a nice new MB Pro and I dont really want to fill it with old crappy fonts :/
so, dear rich person, give me money

thanks typo I'll read that when I have a minute.
material, I have about 10,000 but they simply sit on my computer, I try to keep as few running as possible so that shouldn't be an issue.

if memory serves correct then you have too many fonts rasko, what like 35000 or something

As always, I recommend FontAgent Pro. Here's why (see second post):

It fucks with CS2, so I turn the the auto activating plugin's off. Never had problems with it since.

I hear corel draw has a good font manager. But I could be wrong.

I am at the end of my tether with font bullshit.
So no, I have brought home futura for work on a project, of course I have futura already but I wanted to make sure I am using the same version, so I drag it into Explorer and now I have a suitcase with duplicates of fonts inside, so it asks again and again to deactivate one in order to activate another, and then when the fonts are open, it still doens't work in Quark.
So I end up quitting Explorer, opening suitcase, hitting apple>t to open a temporary font, navigate to the foont in that work folder and now it works.WTF I HATE FONTS

I just switched to it from Suitcase and am having way less problems. My computer actually shuts down most of the time now, fonts activate quickly and when I add fonts that I have more than one copy of, it doesn't duplicate them in the list. That said, it always seems to be trying to activate fonts when I open InDesign and I have to hit cancel

EDIT: ADD MORE FUCKING FUCKS THROUGHOUT!

Is it just me or is this software annoying as fuck? Does it 'create' font problems for you guys aswell? Does it suddenyl have font conflicts where suitcase doesn't?
CAN SOMEBODY MAKE A FONT MANAGER THAT WORKS ALREADY?!?!
