I know one thing, I guess I've at least interested at least a few of you to watch the show. It's really twisted. I don't think traditional Christians would care much for it.

-------nice point.
i watched an obscene christian tv show a few months ago on a sunday morning on bbc1.
it was showing a UK Christian priest (or whatever) going over to China to spread christianity in china. FFS!!!!! One of the most CORRUPT organisations in the world going to spread its word around a country that has the MOST PEACEFUL religions in the world.
GRRRRR!!!!!!
The whole program was preaching christianity and how good it was etc .... and i thought to myself .... they'd NEVER let a program that preached Muslim beliefs etc on primetime morning TV. it just wouldnt happen.

" really don't want to open this can of worms but replace a few words above with 'blacks' and look at what you are.
This is the same stuff and honestly, not to start a fight, but it's ignorant.
See gruntts post for a much more accurate view of things."

what do you think the justification for slavery was?
the christian fucking bible.
add the divne right of kings and we got nearly two thousand years christian oppression.

Kona, comparing the discrimination of people who worship a certain idea to racial/cultural discrimnation isn't the same thing. Ironically, most religions they're guilty of that very thing.

**in other news, Jay Bakker started a show that's on Sundance

no I think Neuarmy got it, but I followed the rules, it was in and out of my hand in less than 4 days.

Jay Bakker just represents the next version of Christian Ecumenism for profit. C'mon people celebrated the Osbourne's for thier popularity and profitability. Given enough time some religion has co-opted the idea in order to build a body of fad "worshippers".
Case closed.

Point being, they can't get their own shit together let alone tell people how to live their lives. Religion would actually help most African-Americans. Numbers are sad, 10% of all male blacks are in jail.

My parents have a prison ministry. They're all too apologetic once behind bars.

(Dec 21 06, 09:00)Whut? Who is the "they" we are talking about? Ted Haggard? False prophets and hypocrisy is the end game of anyone who uses spirtuality for power, money and fame...Dress up in tattoos, dress up holier than thou, greed is the true root of that evil no matter what your race and spirituality.
- gramme0
fact: i've met more christians who are tolerant of athiests, than athiests who are tolerant of christians.
hypocrisy isn't limited to religion, i guess.

what I really dont get is noone jumps on jagx when he makes crazy fucking statements like that, but when I disagree with the policies of Israel, I am hitler.
this place is odd.
- mrdobolina0
how exactly is a person tolerant of an atheist? What are they asking you to do?
They aren't exactly asking you to do anything.
Just asking.
- flagellum0
depends on the atheist. Dawkins, Harris and Dennett would ask you to stop believing in God.
What's wrong with asking people to do things? We do this every day.

(Dec 21 06, 08:42)Oh Sweet Jesus, save me from the absurdity. Talk about ignorance.
And I wasn't making a statement about the South...just saying that I was raised around lots of Evangelicals in the South and I'm way too familiar.
- Mimio0
Does 'tolerant' mean that an Atheists perspective doesn't result in them going to hell for eternity?
Because the Christian tenants of faith don't really communicate tolerance at all. They very clearly layout a single way of thinking. That's why all sects of Christainity are always trying to establish themselves as the "True Faith", or "True form of Christianity". Of course believers take no direct responsibility for this belief.... it's always.."They're not my rules..they're God's rules" as if that's sufficient rationale for such a belief.
