I attended last night, it was great. Each speaker basically did a brief overview of the books they've designed, ones they loved, hated, etc. Chip Kidd is kind of insane, but hilarious, and Milton Glaser is one of the most eloquent speakers I've ever had the pleasure to listen to. It's kind of like listening to you grandfather read you a story, only he's talking about Bodoni or logos or something.

"It’s too bad, then, that the rest of the book is indifferently written (by Kidd himself) and horribly copy-edited -- “loathe” instead of “loath,” “it’s” instead of “its,” “premiere” instead of “premier,” and “who’s” instead of “whose,” to cite just four depressing examples. But if you can look past that and, ironically, this book’s own uncomfortable layout, Book One is a treasury of brilliant book design."
