I need to convert an swf to mov. The problem is that the movie is rendered dynamically/randomly. Not a timeline animation.
Any ideas?

I believe someone once said to use director

If you are on a mac Director is an option (if you have it) otherwise your going to need Windows, there are a bunch of cheap apps to do the job. Just put the title of this thread in google.

Yikes! Director is not really an option for me. It's been years since I've even touched it and I don't have it installed.
I've actually found a couple of swf to mov converters (even if the movie is dynamic) but they don't work so hot. They don't match the framerate at all.

Director is the best bet you can then grab each frame and save it how you want it really easily... gets harder if you want to faux mouse movements and interaction though

use a screen recorder?

A screen recorder is a good idea, except the problem I'm wanting to solve is I've made an animation that moves quite slowly and Flash has a hard time rendering it smoothly. It has a very slight jitter (not on purpose) and I believe it's because of how Flash calculates pixels (ie: fractions of a pixel) so I was hoping that by having something else render it, it might solve the jitter problem.
Thanks though.

Just tried SWF2AVI on some AS but no joy. My bet would be to hit the code.
They've solved numerous impossible problems for me so far.
