"I really fear for the United States because, believe me, the jihadists? They’re not playing the video games. They’re killing real people over there."
-Bill O'Reilly
- M0NEYCIDE0
so basically in an oreillian reality jihadists will destroy america because you can't have a conversation with a nerd?
- TheBlueOne0
I'm confused because I clearly remember Regean talking about how video games will help train our military, and now I see us using all this video game wizardry in our military, kids guiding smart bombs and unmanned drones and shit with video game enhanced abilities, and now this stuff is suddenly bad for the kids and making them morons while the guys in rags and sandals are kicking our butts with second hand chinese AK-47's? I'm confused by his whole line of thinking here..

"Now all you have to do is have enough money to buy a machine..."
THEN, you can (instead of doing drugs or playing video games) watch this assholes show.

o'reilly is really beginning to come into his own in the 64-85 demographic.

"They’re killing real people over there."
And what exactly is our military doing? I bet if we do a kill ratio compairson the dumb americans raised on video games with their iPod's cranking tupac in their m-1 abrams are probably far more deadly than the dudes with the homemade bombs and AK's...

i agree with him.

shut up bill
- Bullitt0
haha he has a valid point..
Playing video games is fun, but still its a waste of fuckin valuable time as well...I had mates who sat and played on the playstation all day, drinking tea... instead of starting to plan out and deisgn their so called media agency they were going to start out.. it never happened.. but they got really good at playing actual soccer!

"the skill set that is necessary to earn a decent living is being deemphasized in a fantasy world of football games and shooting zombies and all that...."
This is so irresponsible. Shooting zombies is a great skill set, and video games provide a safe outlet in which to practice. If not for these games, young people would be at even greater risk. There would be dead Ashes and Shauns all over the street, brains spewed everywhere. Or worse yet, bitten and transformed into walkers themselves. He would be better off directing his venom at the corporate system and leave tomorrow's world-savers alone.

bill doesn't realise playing games is a profession
plus it's good to step off the rat race sometimes...
- TheBlueOne0
Poor, delusional O'Reilly..fighting ghosts and demons that don't exist, except in his tiny, pea sized head...

Playing videogames every now and then is okay (a few hours every few days), but I know people who have played all day long and have basically ruined their lives that way, at least temporarily by loosing their girlfriends and not performing what they said they were going to do, like doing school work and getting a job.

a case is a case but copy-cats are growing:

Ugh. I don't know. Videogames do have some influence but it's a mixture of that PLUS many other situations and ideas that push a person over the edge. I mean, I still think parents should know what a rating means and should prevent their children from having that videogame until they're of the right age. In this case the student was 18 and therefore it is not entirely the parents' fault.
- Witt0
I'm not saying it is - in fact i don't think it is the reason.

*Smashes PS3 with AK-47
I don't know. Some video games greatly improve hand-eye coordination, problem solving skills and quick thinking.
On the other hand, the kids (and adults even) who play 8-10 hours a day... yeah... well... I don't give a shit how good their hand-eye coordination is, weighing 400lbs. makes you a big slow target.
Moderation.

Doom is at hand.

Some games are good for training. Like FPS'ers. For instance, I had never fired an actual gun before my 27th bday where I got to go to a shooting range.
Using a standard glock 9mm, I was able to put bullets in the same spot multiple times on one of those paper targets with the man on it. From like 50' away no less...impressed a few folks there...
All I play is FPS like Black for Ps2..
I really wanna run thru one of those military training areas with the pop out cut outs of terrorists or wateva and bust a few caps...but I gotta join law enforcement for that...
needless to say, video games are responsible for my skillset (if i may)..

He's actually right on a lot of levels. Kids today don't go out an play like they used to, etc. Socially inept. That's not just the US of A either.

“did you ever talk to these computer geeks? I mean, can you carry on a conversation with them?”
Yeah, we're too busy making sure the shit works to talk to you about the war on Christams bill. Go suck an egg.
