I once spent a whole day on that site swiping stuff. What's so amazing is the range, like from illos to photos, the little logos, some of it is really abstract, like paintings ffrom the era.

(Nov 16 06, 13:56)i definitely agree. im enjoying looking through everything. im working on a project right now that has to have a 'jazz feel' and so ive just been pulling colors out of the covers and they are working amazing with my design

Might be nice to do a contemporary take on things instead of mining the past for a concept or referrant. Jazz is really immediate, it's about "right now."

I hear you mimio. The stuff is inspiring, but going to contemporary studio gigs with a camera and snapping something amazing is a different story.
I remember seeing a regional design annual last year where it looked like everybody wanted to make stuff like Jeff Kleinsmith's Saul Bass stuff and wondered when it would all implode.

Those covers are still righteous though, and some of the designers are in that book Randd mentioned.
