pretty bored at where I'm at work wise. Nothing coming down the line is very exciting and I would say it's just busy work. I see some work in NY that seems cool. hourly rates are 40-75, Is that normal, low, high for the area? I've never wanted to live in NY, so It would have to be a great opp.
What other areas of the country have cool stuff/Work?
I've always leaned towards CO as my next stop, but all options are open.

we're still looking for a good ui designer here.
when i was out in santa clara a few months ago every tech/internet company under the sun seemed to be out there. it was awesome. i'd love to work out there someday but fuck it got really hot. not sure if i could handle that.

40 is low. 75 is good. if you can score 65+, that's around 120k if you do consistently year around. i know some get paid for 100/hr but those projects are usually short period projects.

dont even think of moving to NYC for less than 85K a year. Even then, you're not doing THAT well. Talk to tkmeister.

derby 07 - I'm liking Street Sense
"Street Sense ($32.40) won the 1 1/16-mile race like a colt who could finally end the inglorious record of Juvenile winners who have never won the 1 1/4-mile Derby. Street Sense made a mockery of what appeared to be a wide-open race. He won by 10 lengths, a record margin in the Juvenile and the second-biggest in Breeders' Cup history behind the 13 1/2-length margin by which Inside Information captured the 1995 Distaff."
I'm guessing he'll be the fav =(Yeah, from the descript and my exp. I would push for 65-75. Which sounds good, but it is NY. Plus, i like having a car... =( but, ya gotta live in NY for once in your life right? hrmm... guess I should start redoing my folio

he knows secret stocks too. he just will never tell me, the bastard.
*raises fist in the air

oh, fuck off! :)
i now only have 3picks for the stocks and 4 for the funds. if you wanna know, i'll tell you!
i would have more picks if i had more capital. but i like buying in a big chunk, usually 3-5k.
joyride watch way more mad money than i do. i just started to read thestreet.com. usually just yahoo finance.

(Nov 16 06, 06:33)haha- that is where i am from, k0na. i know that area well. i hate to say it, but IMO that place is a design sink hole and not really any cool shops or design going on there from my experence.
it does get hot, but it is rare in a way. it has zero 'seasons' as well, which i hated.
now, SF has great creative but the south bay (as it is called) is not all that... where were you while you were there? i bet i know who built the building you were in anyway ;)

madirish i was there in the macrovision building.
then shot up to sf to the new building up there for 2 days.
in santa clara when we'd go out for lunch 905% of the people walking around or eating had laptops. it was hysterical. 40 people in a shop and 38 of them using their laptop. crazy.

actually, I'm looking at AAPL if it dips below 80 i'm gonna pick some up. With Zune out, I think they are gonna really be pushing what the ipod and poss. iphone out to stay ahead. It'll go above 100 at the end of the 1st qtr.
Just gotta get this dead beat client to pay up. any 1 in AZ wanna make a house call, i'll send ya a louisville slugger.
- madirish0
haha- i do know who built that building! srsly. : ) i know right where it is.
yeah, it is like that there. my parents always ask me (who still live there) ask me why i do not have a PDA as i guess 99% of all dudes my age have one and there isa trend of people getting tickets driving while useing them, not their phones. lolit is a crazy place. like i said, i grew up there and know it well. it is soooooooo expensive to live there though, you would shit in your hot tub if you saw rent/morgage amounts....
- k0na_an0k0
hahaha!

buddy, you are too late on aapl! i am a happy owner of 140shares.
WYNN is doing well. i was gonna buy a week ago. i am basically waiting on dumping IHR then put that into high return to get back on the track.
GRMN is also doing well for me. a week since i bought, it's already 6% up.
I am thinking maybe AMZN for 3-4month get a quick return.
