True story:
My oldest sister and Nicole Brown were good friends at Dana Hills High School. After graduating Nicole moved up north to L.A. while my sister stayed in Orange County. For many years they kept in contact and they would visit each other in LA or OC. All the while she was dating OJ and he was hitting her really bad. My sister told me she would come back to my sister's for the weekend to "hide out" because he was so abusive but she didn't want to say anything in fear of losing her status in Beverly Hills. They would hang out smoke drink and just chill before she had to go back to LA. This was all through the 80's.
My sister was fucked up when this happened.- Did he hit her or just shake the shit out of her?toodee
- yeah, my newphew's third gardner knew her as well...GeorgesII

O.J. is broke, so anyway he can get some money. Remember when he stabbed those guys when he went to sell his trophies?
This guy is bat shit crazy. That trial busted him now 10+years statue is up on a re:trial and why not make some money off of the murders.

Who watched the ESPN series that just wrapped up? We still have 2 episodes to go, but overall it's been great. Interesting look at LA race relations, police, etc. beyond the story about OJ's career, the trial, etc.
- binged it ...
one of my top 5 all time docs.Ramanisky2 - Yeah, its pretty great.DRIFTMONKEY
- it was ok. saw all of it a million times beforeCygnusZero4
- horse officially beaten to death with how many docs about the same thingCygnusZero4
- Warning, on Episode 4 they show picture close ups on Ron & Nicole's heads ... pretty gruesome.Ramanisky2
- ^ those pix have been all over the internet since the 90sCygnusZero4
- I never sought them out on the net. I was aware of how bad Nicole's & Ron's injuries were .. it's just seeing them for the first time. brutal.Ramanisky2
- i spent a lot of time in cali during the 70s. this series was an eye opener in terms of what i actually didn't understand in terms of race relations then, renderedred
- granted i was a kid at the time. really good series, recommended.renderedred

Too long for side notes.
The thing that really struck me in the first episode was that the combination of historical footage, music, etc. made it feel like we were watching the history of someone famous who died tragically. Then I remembered "oh, well it's definitely a prelude to his downfall," and felt like I was watching something about the downfall of a murderer.
Then I quickly reminded myself, he was found not guilty. So, it was this weird juxtaposition of dramatic buildup, history, etc. but a jury found him not guilty. I totally understand the speculation that he did it, or that he didn't do it, but legally, he was found not guilty.
However... Once they started having people tell stories about their relationship, showed more footage and background, yeah, for the first time I guess I really felt 100% like he did it. I tend to respect the legal system to a point where I don't want to call someone a murderer when a court and a jury found them not guilty, but yeah, I guess the documentary had the right points to put it together in my mind.
On another note, I saw something a while back that talked about a detective or investigator who strongly believes that OJ's oldest son was the murderer, and that OJ might admit to having done it to clear his son's name (before OJ nears the end of his life). Who knows... sounds absurd.
- That's a theory. It's been written about. His son has anger issues and an obsession with knives.severian
- wait till you see his life in Miami post trial .. what a shit-show.Ramanisky2
- Also stuff found in a diary. remember how the glove was smaller?severian
- Yeah, hopefully will finish it this week. I keep laying down while watching it and falling asleep.mg33
- i was in college when the jury found him not guilty. i happened to be walking past one of the college lounges before the jury gave their verdict. as i stood...kona
- in the door someone shouted from the room "im gonna kill a white person if he's found guilty" and everyone in the room turned and looked at me.kona
- i realized i was the only white guy around and slowly backed away before the verdict could be read. no one said a word and it was the tensed momentskona
- of my life. once i was out of sight i bolted to the restroom and locked the door. minutes later i heard an eruption of yelling and thought 'of fuck... i'm dead"kona
- i'll never forget that daykona
- holy-shite damn konaRamanisky2
- not once did i even doubt he was not guilty. always blew my mind how someone could think he was innocent, but then again i'm not blackMilan
