Isn't the top paid player in MLS on $900,000/yr? Beckham earns that in about a month, I can't see him taking the pay cut to play in front of 500 yanks every week in the US to be honest.
It's not like he's not going to have decent European clubs interested if he leaves.

he'll end up at West Ham, trust me.

haha engage .. yeah, the high profile players they've signed have really worked wonders for the club.
Although with Sven Boring Eriksson replacing cunt..Pardew, it's not so crazy an idea.

Forget playing 'in front of 500 yanks every week' - remember Nike et al wanting to bolster another revenue stream in their principal market...
I presume Beckham is one of the few football celebrities who is relatively familiar Stateside?

(Nov 6 06, 06:39)DING, DING, DING. Winner, Winner, Chicken Dinner. And don't forget getting his pretty face out there to start his movie career. He can only play football for so long dudes.

I watched West Ham beat Arsenal with about 20 British Ex-pats. They almost shit their pants when West Ham scored that last goal. Then the Chelsea fans entered the bar at 11 AM already pissed solid.

That is one hot man!
He could bring more attention to American Soccer... might not be bad. I doubt money will be a problem. I thought I heard somehwere he had the most recognized face in the world...? Where ever he goes, endorsements will still follow. Plus if he was smart with his money, he doesn't have to worry about that.

you really think he can help to get more attention to american soccer? they have tried for 10yrs and still no good. it won't change for another 10yrs at least.
it's just not in american's blood. they would rather watch american football and tell everyone else that's the real football.

Marketing.
Great looking. Married to a great looking lady.
He could never score for the LA Galaxy and would still be one of the biggest celebs in LA. Remeber, LA doesn't have a NFL team, hence, why USC is so big there, therefore, yes it would be major attraction and money maker for the ultra materialistic LA. Beckham's soccer salary would be similar to what a US President gets. It's beans compared to the money and deals they make outside of it.

smells like a last ditch attempt by mrs beckham to hold onto that spotlight/15 mins of fame by relocating to gossip mag central.
and seriously, nike doesn't need david, david needs nike

Beckham is on adidas, not Nike.

Raith Rovers have offered him a four figure deal and also includes a n ex-council house near the waterfront.

i say not yet. he can go to other clubs around the would that are better than anything MLS has to offer. But i do think he will end up here, sooner or later

Ah come off it! Beckham(S) move to the US has nothing at all to do with football! It's so his stupid ass wife can rekindle her sorry career in Hollywood! She'll be in mediocre films and releasing new god awful r&b sh*te in no time!
tis a joke

Actually both, Beckham would be loved here. Most fans would know that he's past him prime, but that's fine, soccer is just becoming big here. The kids in the suburbs play it and that's where the money is.
It's all about organization.
Hollywood side, for sure, he would fit right in, no doubt. He's a good looking guy.

(Jan 11 07, 08:11)I wouldn't really call what he was doing prior to this "football" either. It was more like taking set pieces, and aimlessly wandering around the right side of the field for ninety minutes.

" aimlessly wandering around the right side of the field for ninety minutes "
isn't that the whole point?
