my macbook just returned from service today, i am putting a 7200rpm hard drive in it cause its original slow drive was a damn bottleneck.
of course, adobe /macromedia apps are just a little above useless on it, but osx is only one of the options - that's the beauty of it. this and its 1 inch flatness
i don't see any other dvi-equipped laptop on the market either

Well today I just got my macbook pro.
I was excited until I turned it on at work in front of some coworkers and we all heard a very annoying high-pitched buzzing sound coming from the inside. the brighter the screen was the more annoying it got. It fucking gave me headaches and the sound overall is unbearable.
I'm going tomorrow morning to Macstation here in Vancouver to ask for a replacement. It is just fucking unacceptable to get this sound that apparently is a hardware problem that Apple has just admitted and posted on their site.
Fucking hope they dudes at this store admit they can hear the annoying sound that, who knows could become something worst in the future.
Anybody else having the same problem?

engage,
do you use you mb on a daily basis? to build the sites you do?
how do you find flash/fireworks runs on it?
i take it you hook it up to a screen at work?

I reckon, we're looking at 15"4 screen and Adobe CS3 (UB) beginning of next year

D30 is 6 years old indeed - I used to have one, and even then 3.3mp seemed dated. It is a classic now.
I sold my pentax DS and have been waiting for the new K10D premiere, delayed again till December.
D30 seemed like a fun cheap interim camera. My gf loves it, she never forgave me selling the old D30, so this time it will probably stay longer.

hey poomoo,
I basically hook up my mb to a 20 inch apple screen at work and the same at home... so i have the identical set up... i run windows on it though... and super quick... and a good base for not going to hellfire with flash!
I've also got a power adaptor at both places so I'm kind of hot desking between the two, nothing more annoying that leaving a power adaptor behind... flash on a pc is of course better than on a mac... i usually run mac when i'm either runnning handbrake for ripping dvds or iPhoto, or just browsing the net
I was testing on a mbp with non glossy screen this afternoon at the apple store and the colours seemed really poor...
before hand i had a 2.5k Dell box, and was nothing but trouble... my productivity has increased so much more now!!

I was hoping they'd update before xmas as I want one for the gf. she ain't a pro user and i don't need 'all that jazz'. is the 15" pro worth the extra £300... maybe?
- Engage0
progress for you... still happy with my macbook... forever having to design for machines below the spec of it anyway... and everything else works sweetly for it anyway
