Ok, so it's that time of year again. I've been asked to design the studio christmas card. I've got a few ideas on the go but would like to see some great examples of really clever or just plain nice xmas cards, they don't need to be recent.
thanks

I usually send people a picture of Bruce Lee with numchucks that says "Seasons Beatings"

Rare that I have seen clever or great crimbo cards.
The Chase did that christmas tree outta stamps one and an Ad agency stuck a sticker over the previous years card stating: " Our Finance Director has asked us to cut back on costs.... blah blah blah"
A tough one to get original interesting cards.

Ahoy there baskerville.
This is a tough one for sure.
The Partners have done some really clever and funny ones over the years for a solicitors called lewis silkin...not sure if you'll be abkle to find much online though?
Christmas cards a right bastard for original and clever ideas

an ad agency in scotland did the old 'for christmas this year, we're recycling' viral type thing, won an award at the scottish ad awards (not that means anything). cant remember who the hell it was tho! - it might have been frame creative.

it's going to be a print card. Last year I just did a nice typographic thing with the company name hidden in the message, used some nice white embossing etc.
I'm a bit stuck now. Each year you see the same old crap from other studios, and I just want to do something different.

An agenncy I worked for did quite a nice one, unfortunatley I don't have a pic so here's the picture in words form: It was a flat piece of card, christmassy green on one side and glossy white on the other. Really small message printed bottom corner on the the green side.
They were then die cut, but all the pieces were still attached so it was still a rectangle of card. It had a piece at the bottome cut to make a stand and then a repeating patern of christmas trees cut in to the main body of it.
So the client could display it either upright and the shadow of the cuts on the glossy side looked good or diplay it flat with the trees bent into and upright position making it look like a little christmas forest.

there was that other dude who made a cool poster, screwed it up into a snowball and sent it out. i think the poster asked the reciever to take a photo of their snowball and send it back in, and they posted all the images on their website. was pretty cool. damn, cant remember who that was either

See, told you all the good ones have been done.

Sagmeister did that one for Aerosmith with the flex disc and paper cone that you assembled and could play the record through. Not necessarily what a design shop would do for itself, but interesting nontheless.
