I have a legitimate need for a function to load an .exe file
it's an internal thing there is no security or anything involved..
MyObject = new ActiveXObject( "WScript.Shell"
function notepad() {
MyObject.Run("C:\Program Files\notepad2\Notepad2.exe") ;I can't do it this way because I can't have the variable Myobject outside of the function call.....

ok I tried this and it asks if you want to save the file.....
function digg()
{
document.location.href="file... Files/notepad2/Notepad2.exe";
}so I am at least getting closer.... but I need to launch it not save it..... I am trying to create a firefox ext that loads an exe I got it to this point by hacking another extension
any ideas?

function digg()
{
document.location.href="file... Files/notepad2/Notepad2.exe";
}this makes the thing open up a little dialog box that says.....do you want to save this file.... pointing to notepad.exe
