With the closure of CBGB's and the imminent closure of Tower Records at 4th & Bdway, I think some of NYC's rock and roll history is going away...
Sad really..

NYC prepare to get your face ripped the fuck off when Modey Lemon shows up on the 30th (Thu.) at Northsix in Crooklyn.
Check them out, they are fucking maniacally good.

There's still Red Lion and the places along Bleecker.

I would've liked to see Deborah Harry playing a final show there...

i am sad to see the death of CBGBs but i am so overly greatful to see the city finally losing that end of its failure to being a clean and beautiful city.
nyc has so much to offer and CBGBs gathered so much dirt and grime in its vicinity that the areas surrounding it was not safe for anyone.
this new change i feel will bring goodness to that area.
but yes its sad to see the end of an era that brought so much good music to us.
i love nyc!!
:)

it's moving to Las Vegas, no?
- Soler0

- Jaline0
judging by e-pill's description, the move seems appropriate.

NYC Rock N Roll never dies! Jesus that entire flock of new groups were really good.
Regeneration. All good things come to an end and all that crap.
- Soler0
indeed. and I read that they are trying to keep it as similar as possible to the NYC location- down to the toilets being drug across the country to be be used at the new venue...

"By 2000, the duo gained a reputation around Pittsburgh for blistering, often chaotic live performances (Quattrone was known for on-stage acrobatics)."

(Nov 27 06, 22:31)I know what you mean. It's like selling already-worn out clothing at American Eagle.
