Hey Ya'all...
I've got an FLV that I'm playing through the MX 2004 Pro Media Components. I'm not using a Flash Communication Server, and the movie plays great on all three of my machines, but ont he clients machines it doesn't paly smooth.
I can't figure out for the life of me how to get it to buffer properly. I thought the component would do it automatically but I can't control it. I tried using the netstream AS but to no avail.
I need help and am willing to compensate for a good solution.
please email me or IM me:

If it's downloading slowly then it's going to be choppy no matter what.
You can setBufferLength(x) so that it'll load in x amount before it starts playing.

BTW - here's the actionscript I've got in use now:
nc = new NetConnection();
nc.connect(null);ns = new NetStream(nc);
my_movie.attachVideo(ns);
ns.setBufferTime(60)
ns.play("mydisplay");whereas 'mydisplay' is the mediadisplay component that is supposed to pull in the FLV
