I have to prepare a series of png with numbers in order from 001 to 1000 for a blackberry appl...
do you know a software that can avoid me to write all of them and batch them rapidly?

i have PS cs and in the tutorial there's something that might help me, it's about text variables in imageReady, but i can't tell this is my case...
all i need is have a text layer that changes the number in increasing order...
maybe i need cs2 but i dont have the bucks...

I love bridge for this. It handles all file types, so I have used it for movies and all sorts stuff.

ok but can Bridge do write in a layer text dynamically?

I don't think that capability is present in any application. I have used indesign for sequential numbering layers, but you need individual files and I am not sure if it could output this.

I've actually done something like this with Acrobat.
I did it years ago and I'm sure you need something better than this but I printed each document in a batch process to a pdf and (somehow I can't remember how I did it) included the file name as a caption in the pdf. So all the files printed untouched with the filename at the top of the page.
I had to catalog all the diagrams in binders for something. Maybe this will spark some other kind of solution. Good luck.
