A colleague of mine is leaving soon. I've been asked to play some acoustic guitar pieces at the leaving do.
Apparently she like country music. I know one countryish solo acoustic piece. Does anyone have any recommendations for a nice piece of music that I could play. I imagine she like Nickel Creek type music. Possibly something slow.
I've only got about a week to learn something new. Any ideas?
I've been playing for a while so I can handle pretty much anything but having only a week is tough
thanks.
ps she also like AC/DC so I could always fall back on an acoustic version of back in black or something!

This sounds like an "Office" episode.
I recommend Gram Parsons.

6. I Don't Know Whether To Kill Myself Or Go Bowling
7. I Got In At 2 With a 10, And Woke Up At 10 With a 2.

I was thinking more along the lines of this one:
oh god, I hope it's not like that. I'm not singing, no way.

there are some ace (and really amusing) tunes by dr. hook and the medicine show.
no, not rolling stone or sylvia's mother or any of that top 20 pabulum that they flirted with in the late 70s / early 80s, but the earlier work, eg:
roland the roadie and gertrude the groupie
makin' it natural
queen of the silver dollar
penicillin penny
acapulco goldie
stayin' songbasically, anything before bankrupt...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dr.…guaranteed crowd-pleasing funky-n-western, with lyrics compelling enough to hold the acoustic versions together.
