with 6 years experience (assuming you know what you're doing rather than spending 6 years dossing it off) you should really be looking at more than £26k. I'm shopping around at the moment and being offered interviews at £25k with 3 years design experience.

(Oct 3 06, 05:48)apply directly to the interactive media departments, they're always looking. my friend at TBWA/interactive recently bounced around Sony, Grey, and Saatchi. Get in there quick though, it's almost christmas!

So.. does 6 years mean senior or middle weight? Surely it depends on skills and creativity how much you can expect not just experiance.
I have the same - 6 years, 4 in digital from web to video and just over 2 in print. I'm always trying to get a raise. I'm outside of london and getting under £26k!

I would expect way more than 26k in London for 6 years. I wouldn't know too much about outside though.

keshuyu,
£45,000 depending on your portfolio. I run a digital department of an ad agency, want to send through your CV?
there is an abundance of work out there.

i have a PhD in Risk Management and i now work as an AD. That is because of my experience and my years as a Quantitative Analyst for 2 very well known US and Irish companies. 35% of my employment nowadays is based on the provision of motivational seminars to the trade service & print industry. at the moment my salary. or 'sal-reeeee' as i like to call it, is approx. £63k / €93k / $120k
(i am a line manger for 42 people.)
given the fact that 3 years ago i was earning £56k, my position was made obsolete and i entered the licensing trade. by buying 2 pubs from the brewery with my savings, renovating them and selling them on as a reputable and viable profit making business, i set my own motivational seminar group, which now employs 11 people, and are based in dubai. with the fees accrued i managed to ingratiate myself with the creative industry once again. in conjunction with my mews renovation plan in southern ireland, i have been very fortunate, plenty of fanny aswell, AND,i still drive my bristol . daft eh?

(Oct 3 06, 05:45)I'm finding a lot of employers these days have better budgets than a year or two ago, they're just not willing to spunk it over the next person who walks through the door asking for £20k.
If you don't ask, you won't get it and if you do ask, you'll find it's easier to negotiate down to an acceptable salary than negotiate up.
