Anybody here ever worked for any of the following Toronto agencies?
Concrete
Hambly & Woolley
Hahn Smith
Underline
Or any of similar ilk?

Snuggs

Thanks chz. Everytime I ask a Toronto based question Mr Snuggs crops up.
Anyone else?
- chz0
A guy I went to school with works at Concrete as well.
Are you looking to relocate?
- JerseyRaindog0
Yeah, emigrating. It's a long wait so I coming over to knock on as many doors as possible and to try and meet the right people.
Just trying to find out the right names to ask for when I call up some agencies.

Cool, best of luck... shoot me an email and I can send you some links to studios and some contacts.
You have some solid work so I'm sure you will be able to find someone to hire you.
Do you have a link for that Underline place?... never heard of them before.
Cheers.

Cheers chz. Sent you mail. Calling it a day now as it's nearly midnight here. Thanks for the help in advance though!

Too busy at work to post but i am home now. These are some of my customeres, contacts, prospects and firms that I respect. They are all local but some have an international presence.

Thanks smlton, some useful links there.

Underline is 2 ex-concrete designers, Hahn Smith is a great studio, Hambly are wankers....
Hahn Smiths interview is pretty hardcore though, but worth it I reckon if you can get in there..
Concrete is hiring again as 2 of their seniors just left [one being chz's friend]
- mr_snuggles0
meant to note that I doubt Underline would be hiring since it is just the two of them, but give 'em a couple years and surely they will be a studio to keep yer eye on...

Thanks Mr Snugs. Got your toronto agency list as well so I'm going to be making calls in a couple of weeks for a visit in November. Don't really expect to find a sponsor but it'll be good to get my face out there.
- mr_snuggles0
Well, I gurantee it'll be easier to find a sponsor coming from Europe going to Canada rather than the other way around. There's a lot more talent and competition over here, especially in the UK, than there is in the forgotten, frozen, barren wastelands of the Great White North....
That's at least what I found, took me about a year and a half to find a studio in Holland that realized I was worth the effort. Well at least one in which I could pull the wool over their eyes..
The other thing is from what I remember of your work, it is more international and not so British/European, which will garner a better reaction in North America....

Cheers Snuggs. I have changed my online site since you sent me the list of agencies. I think it's a distinct improvement on what it was before.
Q. What's the best way to approach people in Toronto. Over the phone or an email?
- mr_snuggles0
Phone is usually good, but as anywhere, the 'right' people are never in, with Concrete and Hahn Smith I can give you the right people to email. Otherwise, if you have a promo/leave behind, this is the best way to have people look at your work... Get like 15 or 20 printed, send 'em over prior if you have the time and then follow-up with an email to set up a chat when you're over there....
- JerseyRaindog0
Some names would be great Snugs. Cheers for the help and advice.
