is there an app out there that will batch convert a bunch of sits to zip files
so basically if you opened the newly created .zip file all the content from the .sit file would be in there

anyone know?
i have over 100 files to do and i dont feel like doing them manually
sooo tedious

i haven't quite mastered him yet but OS X Automator should be able to do this.

actually.. why not just unstuff them all at once and then just create an action/ key shortcut to rezip each? would take like 5 mins.
you can also use Dropstuff as a .zip droplet, in the Stuffit DLX package.

the only problem is, if i do that...i wont know which files came from which sits
i have one folder with 20 sits in it...in each sit is multiple files, could be 3 or 4...could have folders....its random shit
so if i extracted them all....i would have a big mess of files in that same folder that i wouldn't know which belonged to which.
if i could extract each sit to a folder with the same name, then zipping would be a lot easier cause i could them just zip the folder

(Sep 21 06, 11:12)a .sit with multiple files will unstuff as a folder, so they should all remain self-contained, no?

everytime i expand a sit with multiple files...it keeps all those files intact
cant seem to find an option to expand to a folder
- kinetic0
wait..now it seems to be doing it
weird, i dont know what i changed

are you using the mac archiver utility, or stuffit to unstuff? i think they behave differently.

dude. take 5 minutes to open automator and check it out.
select all the .sits you want to convert, control click on them and select automator > create workflow.
you'll see all your apps and actions in the left pane. find stuffit > decompress, then finder > create archive and you're done.
