you are quick young grasshopper.

I hope Montreal gets that last spot. If the Leafs come in, it's okay too, but they'll lose in the 1st round.
I suspect Murray (Sens coach) is still figuring out how to alternate between Emery and Gerber during the playoffs. Emery will most likely start most of the time, but Gerber will go against the teams he has won against in the past. That tactic seems to work for us. But we also have to keep in mind that Gerber didn't play well in the playoffs last year, and the Sens didn't play well either. Emery has always been pretty good.

Gerber can't handle the pressure and Murray doesn't know what he's doing.
If the Sens draw Jersey in the first round they'll have a tough time getting by. Although I hate Jersey almost more than I hate the Sens - Brodeur is outstanding and his team is tough to beat... especially during the playoffs.
- Jaline0
You're right about Jersey. We've had a hard time beating them this year, and I think we lost to them a few years ago in the second round or something. Still, we've got better goal scorers and they're going to have to step it up if we're going to win. And I think Emery will step up as well.
How does Murray not know what he's doing? Gerber has a .906 and a record of 15-9-3. It's not stellar, but it's not horrible since he's the backup.
Emery has a .918 and a record of 35-15-5. Pretty good. He's 13 in overall goalie stats (ahead of Fernandez, Dipietro, Legace, Huet, Lehtonen, Miller, Holmqvist, Fleury, Raycroft, etc, etc.)
Our team was best under Jacques Martin's coaching, but Murray stepped in when the Sens weren't doing so well.

I know, I know... the stats are very convincing. But the playoffs always show that they (the stats) don't mean much.
And, of course, it goes with out saying, Ottawa has a very talented team. Their scoring power is unmatched in the east. At their best, even better than the Pens, I would say.
but they still stink! and there gunna LOSE!
:)

bars in vancouver packed with canuck fans we're cheering like mad as calgary won. it looks like the flames have it in the bag.

Go Flames! love to see Jerome give and take a few punches for his team. what a captain!
Would love to see a Flames/ Canucks series. Is that a possibility at this point?
Those top teams are all so close. It'll be a dog fight in the west and whoever makes the final will be so beat up by that time. There are so many strong teams out there...
ah! I can't wait.

Probably won't be a match-up in the playoffs between the Canucks and the Flames, but it could happen.
Toronto won't be going against Ottawa right away, but if they are as awesome as us (doubtful, heh) then it could happen as well.
*hopes Ottawa doesn't lose in first round.
Iginla reminds me of Alfredsson. Neither get really violent unless one of their own is wronged, and both are quiet leaders (but not in the sense that they don't score a lot, b/c they both do). Both are short too, heh.
- Jaline0
Actually, it's more like Koivu and Alfie are more similar, but Iginla's in there too.
Alfie has stepped it up more (along with the rest of the team) in the last few months. The team really needs him playing like this in order to survive as a whole, I noticed. Hopefully he doesn't make dumb mistakes like he did last year. He's the leader for +/- in the NHL too, so I'm hoping he can keep up with that for the next week.

Alfredsson was better when he had clown hair.
- Jaline0
Yes, I miss the hair too :(
- Jaline0
I think I like Alfie more because he makes less than $5M, scored 100pts last year, and is the only Senator to improve his point total every year since 1999.
Even Wade Redden makes more money.
- Jaline0
What's bad is that Emery makes $925,000 while Gerber makes $3,700,000.
- Sickman0
I'd love to see Calgary go far but it doesn't feel likely. A Canucks Flame series would be sweet.
- Jaline0
Leafs lost pretty badly tonight.
- walkman0
BLAH!
:(
there's still hope.
- mrsparkle0
Flames will win their 1st round if they play Detroit or Anaheim. I'm not so sure if it's Nashville. Flames are heating up at the right time!

FLAMES ON!
- Sickman0
i hope the flames can make it past the first round but something tells me it ani't going to be so
maybe it's thier road record.....
- Jaline0
200!
