I am tempted to sell me iBook and pick up a macbook. A review I read said the native video card was poor for 3D. I do most my 3D on my G5, but was wondering if videos games in 3D are poor as well.
Just looking for overall opinions on how bad 3D displays on the macbooks. Are the MB Pros any better?

The MacBooks video card is pretty bad, It is actual less quality than your iBooks video card.
it shares it's memory with the system so it steals memory from your applications. It is also not even as good as the card found in iBooks. it uses a generic Intel graphics chip. you will defiantly see it's limits as soon as you startup any type of 3d application (modeler, video game, openGL, etc..)
I am using a MacBook Pro and the graphics card is great. ATI Mobility Radeon X1600 It has it's own 256Mb of ram. one of the best cards for laptops on the market
I just started learning Modo and it runs very well. Very fluid movement and live rendering works nice.
My suggestion is stick with the iBook until you can afford a Macbook Pro. you wont regret it

Thanks guys (or gals). Looks like I need to save my pennies for MB Pro. I do 3D and iBook does ok for light modeling etc, but sounds like Macbook is poo poo with the integrated Intel card
Thanks again!
