hey, having some problems here; have no experience/knowledge of macs...
trying to create a mac executable (projector) in Macromedia Director from a Windows machine. I followed Director's instructions.
the client says when they try to open the projector file it asks for software to use to run it (Mac OS X).
what's the extension of a mac executable file?

anyone who've done cross-platform projectors with director?

no director users?
i know there's mac users... what's the extension for a mac executable?

.osx will work. However, I usually make my executable projectors on the platform they are meant for....just a tip, if Director on a mac is available at all.

ok, the file format is right.
don't have access to director on a mac. it should work!?
why would a .osx file need to be associated with a program... it should just run, shouldn't it?
- Mahdi0
see, that's the thing. adding an extension won't get it to run.
Do an apple+i to check the file type. If it's reading as a "Unix Executable File" the file isn't exporting right on the PC, and wont run, no matter what extension you give it.

As I recall from years ago... you need to have director on a mac and a PC
I have heard that you can load it on both machines... In the old days you had to buy a mac AND a PC version...
Does that help??
