just wondering if anyone on here has managed to gain work/work visa for USA.
im a graphic designer from Australia and wouldnt mind doing the work/travel thing for a year or so... I know its pretty hard without a green card but I know some have done it. Any info you have would be great :)

If a company there wants you, they can arrange one of the following visas:
H-1 if you have a BA, BA equivalent or proven 12 years of experience.
O-1 if you are a recognized outstanding artist (have won international/local awards and appear in publications, worked on high profile clients/projects) and can bring refernces from known authorities in your field.
Another option is working in a company that has a branch in your country and get paid locally.

The next set of applications for working visas aren't released until April 2007 but... I heard there's some kind of special deal between Australia and the USA so visas are freely available.

Actually, they have recently changed the laws to make it easier for austrlaisn to work in the USA. I think you can get a 2 year viso without much trouble. Look on the DFAT website for more details.

Or maybe it's NZ and the USA. Or maybe I dreamt the whole thing up. Like recordable doorbell messages and musical walking sticks.

....and if you can understand my shitty typing, then you've already past the first test.
