Hi all,
me and my wife are going to NYC this week as 1st time tourists. We've got tickets and a hotelroom, but if you have any tips for nice things to see/do/eat/drink/buy it would all be greatly appreciated.(We're no millionaires so if it's not super expensive, that's even better). Thanks!

Superfuture NYC
http://superfuture.com/city/city…a map of restaurants, clothing stores, toys stores, gadgets, museums, galleries, parks and so forth.
i advise picking up a "Voice" free newspaper found on most corners in a "RED" containers.
you will find most anything art or culturely diverse stuff to do with in those pages.
also pick up an issue of "timeout NY" its a weekly magazine of things to do in nyc. with ratinggs on restaurants to bars to which corner to see your fav celebrity.
enjoy your time, keep your wallet in your front pockets, dont give money to panhandlers EVER!!!
you'll be fine, look both ways when you cross the streets and enjoy some "jay walking"
goto the west village teh LES, tribeca, the cloisters [its a very large CASTLE with Knights in armour!!!] or goto the planetary museum and see the stars.
so much to do...the ovn cant handle a description of things to accomplish.
EAT EAT EAT!!!! we have the most diverse cultures here in nyc and our foods here prove just that.
do not eat anything you have back home, try something new.
be safe, take pics, ride the subways. dont be tourists. just be people having fun. tourists jsut hang outside their hotels and goto empire state building...so predictable.
goto ZAKKA its a graphic design book store on grand street downtown manhattan. best in the world. you can its location on the map in superfuture.

Thank you! We'll probably go to ESB, but to the 102nd floor, and other than that, we'll try not to be tourists :)

superfuture is THE BEST.
my favorites: zakka corp, supreme, stackhouse, nom de guerre, trackstar, kissena velodrome, turntable lab, aNYthing, pommes frites, LES and village bars... aside from the people watching, the food is the best.

I have a special place in my heart for fuleen because it was where our late friend Jess always went when she wanted some good Chinese cooking like her Mom's. Come to think of it, that was the last place we ever ate with her
