You've got theillustrative skills down - I reckon all it would take is practice with a needle for a bit till you get used to the amount of pressure you will need etc..
I dunno...see if you can get an apprenticeship somewhere?
Or something....
What do I know?
: )

Those fellas on Miami Ink ... how much do they make?

i doubt you could gauge what your income would be by what those guys make... They can charge a bit more because they're famous from their tv show I would think.

good artists usually bring in between 130-190 an hour.
But to get there usually takes about 5-7 years. It's a process.

i interviewed for an apprenticeship a few years back. but i think they got turned-off by my diatribe about how tattoo art needs to evolve beyond sailor jerry bullshit.

I have a few friends who are tattoo artists, for every one truly great tat you do, you do 40 lame ones off of the flash art on the walls of the shop. keep it in mind.

you still might have to do a lot of tribal bands and tramp stamps.

If you want to practice brooke, go to a butchers shop and buy large pieces of pig meat, with the skin.
A pigs skin is as close as you're going to get to a humans, so you can tattoo that to practice.
Or, befriend a farmer and tattoo live pigs. Their skin is SO thick they'll never feel the needle so you won't be hurting them, and, the farmer will have designer pigs.
Honestly it doesn't matter if you have the skills, doing it with a needle is TOTALLY different and takes being an intern/apprentice somewhere before you can do it yourself.
