it's happened to me a few times. mostly software related (i think).
It just needed a reboot a couple of those times. It started up again right away afterwards.
Only once did it not wake up... disk warrior came to the rescue there.
i'm guessing you're not starting up?

kernel panics could be a combination of factors, could anything from bad ram to a faulty cpu processor. Best send it to the techies for diagnostic testing.

Try pulling out a ram stick and see if it helps, bad ram maybe.

it was the airport card thingy in mine, took it out, and bingo.

Have you run the Apple Hardware Test CD? (its in the box/on the DVD... but Applecare should have run you through that..)
have you done the fsck thingy?

I maxed out my PBs RAM and it kept crashing intermittently. I tried the same combination with 3 different brands with the same results. In the end Samsung chips worked with no more crashes.

i took it to the genius bar. it's there until tomorrow morning where hopefully ill get a call with some answers. if not ill probably send it out for a week.
dont think it's software...the only thing i had that was new was ipoddisk.
oh, and after each kernel panic, id reboot, and then it would do it like 5 minutes into opening photoshop. dont know what the deal is, guess ill wait to hear from the genius'.
