Hi all,
Can anyone point me in the right direction to do something similar to the scaling header images found here please?
- digilee0
how do they expand?
if you mean the zoom effect, well ... that's pretty much easy to do in Flash.

If you're looking to have them scale without Picxel shifting, right click the image after you import it into Flash then make sure image properies are set to Bitmap Smoothing. Plus in your Flash embed code set the quality to highest for Flash player 6.

The bigger question is are you just wanting to animate like the same 3 or 4 images say or if you want all that to be dynamic. 2 totally different questions.

digileeDont remember saying how do they expand. But thanks for your help.
At the mo they fade in & out, but i thought it would be cool to zoom in like that, but i dont want to lose any quality.

if you cannot scale an image in flash... buy a book. Or at least go somewhere like here.
There is no point in any of us posting code for you to use as you won't understand it and won't learn anything.

Yeah i dont really think that was his question numb nuts, whether he can scale an image or not.
And he didnt ask you to post code, just a bit of 'friendly' help.
Its people like you that bung forums up with unheplful shit and think that your'e clever by being sarcastic.

Hello/ Yes. Right click and choose "bitmap smoothing" as previously posted. Also try the following...
1. Put image brightness at 99%
2. Import your image at the "Fully" scaled size and then resize it in flash. It is better to start big and scale down. Images distort less.
3. For scripting investigate the "Tween" class. Macromedia tween class.
4. If your image is imported larger than the size you want to have the image start to scale up from try the following.
Make img a movie clip.
yourimg._xscale = 80; yourimg._yscale = 80;

OH/
Also a good idea to include about 5 pixels of empty space around your image. It just seems I get less cracking when the image borders are not 0,0 within the container movie clip. Just something I have found... hey-- it is flash. there are tons of weird hacks to do in flash.
