I had a good one yesterday,
Got a call from one of our clients who had asked me to supply a JPG of their logo and some coloured blocks so that she could create a newsletter (In MS Word!) which would be printed Litho.
I explained to her at the time that this would be difficult to make it look professional, at which point she stopped me and said ‘You leave that to me, I’m quite a whiz in word’.
So yesterday she calls to tell me she has had a proof back from the printer and surprisingly her blue text (that she had visually matched in RGB on her £80 Dell monitor to the blue of the logo) looks COMPLETELY different to their corporate colour (I’m using every ounce of self restraint not to just shout YOU STUPID C*NT down the phone to her and slam it down).
I told her not much can be done about this and that is why we recommended that we lay it out in order to avoid such incidents.
Rather annoyed by this shock revelation she finishes the conversation by saying ‘I have to create this type of thing all the time in Word and am going to suggest we change our corporate colour to one from the MS Word colour palette’....
By the way, this is a multinational PR agency with offices in 30 countries around the globe employing about 200 people in each.... Yeah, go for it love they will f*cking psis themselves at that one in the AGM!

priceless.
I love that clients think that Powerpoint and Word are profesional design tools. What do they think we do all day long?!
