annoying Flash ads

Why the hell would a news organization want to distract readers so badly as having a Flash ad going nuts right next to the content? Anyone know of a solid Firefox extension to block them. So far all I have is a user stylesheet that hides embed tags.

i was thinking you were talking about CNN or something like that, then i looked over to the left.
that fucking ad is rocking my processor. they really need to learn to code better, and get some aesthetics to boot

I went to USAToday yesterday, whose paper is much better designed than their site imo. On the homepage there was an ad maybe over 400px tall on top pushing the whole site down. Where I X'ed it out it slowly moved up like it was animated. I just closed it, thought to myself that they lost a reader and had a discussion on the poor usability practice with my fellow UE team members.
