downhill? hardtail?
I'm more of a xc person but why would you not want the travel back there?
- horton0
most of the aggressive hardtails these days are designed for dirt jumpers.
Cove bikes still make a freeride hardtail.. the Stiffee... bit of a legend amoungst hardtails.
www.southshorebikes.com is their Australian rep.

i am a fan of Intense always as he is making quality, user-driven product that just plain performs. also, the Orange stuff is pretty nice.
Santa Cruz is nice as well and the quality is top-notch.
yer boy Minnar is still wining the NORBA series pretty easily as well- ask him. ; )

I can vouch for the Stiffee - just come back from it's second holiday in Morzine.
if you want something different Nicolia make some fantastic frames:
http://www.nicolai.net/the 2mxtb is their most aggressive HT...
http://www.nicolai.net/order/2mx…Me, I like the look of the Helius FR:
http://www.nicolai.net/order/hel…They build these to order, apparently you can specify any colour you want.

good call on the sasquatch. It's going to be a little iffy on the streets but on the trails its going to eat everything up and teach you to be smooth.
You'll be huckin that thing in no time. I had a Norco 4hun a couple years back and we were pulling 10-12 ft hucks on that thing. Norcos are tough and the oem builds aren't bad.

That build in chain tensioner on the nicolai frames looks pretty sweet.

Nicolai frames are decent, but you can get more bang for your buck. One of my friends used to have the Nucleon with the internal transmission but he got rid of it. He also has the UFO.
