i think it's kobe beef when from a specific breed of cow, as the kobe beef in japan isn't necessarily from kobe itself, but the wagyu cattle.
US kobe beef is not from japan, as none of it is actually exported from there, the cattle they use for US is a cross of a wagyu and a domestic breed.
...and it's not suspended in a harness, but is treated quite well, probably better than a good portion of our human population.
